Pain, Hope, Questions, and Community: An Evening with To Write Love on Her Arms

Event Description:
"To Write Love on Her Arms is a non-profit movement dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury, and suicide. TWLOHA exists to encourage, inform, inspire, and also to invest directly into treatment and recovery." At this event Jamie Tworkowski shares the surprising story of how To Write Love on Her Arms began. Telling stories and talking about the importance of honesty and community in a way that is dynamic, conversational, raw, and ultimately hopeful, Tworkowski lets students know that no matter what they are not alone. Through his talk the message of TWLOHA comes across in a unique and moving way. Joining Jamie will be Julia Jones of the Twilight Saga. She will be sharing her personal story of struggle and recovery. The event is free and open to Southeast students, faculty, and staff as well as members of the Cape Girardeau community. TWLOHA merchandise will be sold after the event and a meet and greet with Jamie will also be held. Sponsored by To Write Love on Her Arms - SEMO, Student Government, SAC, RHA, Dr. Randy Carter, The Psychology Department, and the Social Work Department
