Kent Library Presents: ANDY WARHOL: UP CLOSE AND IMPERSONAL

Event Description:
Andy Warhol was one of the most influential artists of the 20th century and the first to coin the term 15 minutes of fame. His photographs, drawings, silkscreen, paintings, films, and other works defined the Pop Art movement, and his work impacted or rubbed elbows with the worlds of music, acting, dance, fashion, media, and celebrity. The Rosemary Berkel and Harry L. Crisp II Museum presents a panel discussion focusing on Warhol’s relationship with the worlds of music, acting, dance, fashion, media, and the celebrity through his art. The panelist include Wendy Cooper, Department of Industrial and Engineering Technology; Dr. Robert Fruehwald, Department of Music; Dr. Joni Hand, Department of Art; Dr. Joel Rhodes, Department of History; and Dr. Marc Strauss, Department of Theater and Dance. This panel discussion is in conjunction with the exhibition Andy Warhol Photographs: Recent Gifts from the Andy Warhol Photographic Legacy Program on view from November 1 - January 26, 2014 at the Rosemary Berkel and Harry L. Crisp II Museum on the River Campus. For more information on the exhibition or other Andy Warhol related events please call 651-2260 or email museum@semo.edu.
