FOCUS is a web-based, personalized career and education planning system. Use FOCUS to create plans so you can self-manage your career, be proactive, control your destiny, and take advantage of new career opportunities. You can benefit by using FOCUS whether you are a student, a college alumnus, or an employee seeking career change.
FOCUS guides you through a process enabling you to:
- Assess your present career status and your planning needs
- Assess your work related interests, values, skills, leisure time activities, and personality type
- Discover and explore occupations and education programs that are compatible with your personal attributes, lifestyle and needs
- Map out your career and educational goals, action plans and personal development needs
- Search for jobs, graduate schools, training programs, scholarships, financial aid, and internships
To access FOCUS go to http://portal.semo.edu and enter your SEKey and Password to log in. Click on the "Students" tab and in the Career Linkages box you will see the link to FOCUS.
After you login successfully, continue to navigate through the program using the red buttons at the bottom of the screen. You may need to scroll down to see those buttons. The program will keep track of your progress by showing check marks for each phase on the Main Menu.
Using the red button marked Reports at the bottom of the Main Menu, you may select the reports you desire to print. Exit the program by clicking the red button marked Exit and answer the questions. Remember to collect your printouts from the printer.
We encourage you to visit the program as often as you desire to gain career information.
