An Introduction to Southeast’s Executive Staff

 

 

Kenneth Dobbins, President
 
Dr. Dobbins became the 17th president of Southeast Missouri State University on July 1, 1999. He joined Southeast in 1991 as the Vice President for Finance and Administration and served as Executive Vice President from July 1993 until he was appointed as president. President Dobbins is married to Jeanine, who is the coordinator for the Missouri Statewide Early Literacy Intervention Program based here at Southeast. They have one son, Paul, who is a Southeast graduate.

 

   

 

Jane Stephens, Provost        

Dr. Stephens was named Provost in May 2000, returning to Southeast after service here for 16 years from 1978 - 1994. She previously served as Executive Vice Chancellor at the University of South Carolina and as Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. While at Southeast from 1978 to 1994, Dr. Stephens served as Assistant Provost, Academic Associate in the Office of the Provost, Director of Honors and Coordinator of the Governor's Scholarship Program. She also served as professor, associate professor, assistant professor and instructor of history at Southeast.

      

 

 

 

 

 

Kathy Mangels, Vice President for Finance & Administration

Kathy has been with the University since 1995. As Vice President, she also serves as Treasurer of the University, Treasurer for the Missouri Research Corporation and Treasurer of the Foundation. She has formerly served as the Controller and Assistant Treasurer for the University. Kathy holds a bachelor of science in business administration from the University of Missouri – Columbia and a masters of arts degree in higher education administration from Southeast.
   

 

Dennis Holt, Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Success       

 

 

 

 

 

Dr. Holt has been employed at Southeast since 1976 in both faculty and administrative positions such as professor, department chair, and senior associate provost, vice provost and dean of extended learning. Currently, he oversees many departments on campus such as admissions, campus life, enrollment management, information technology, institutional research, recreation services, residence life, registrar’s office, and student development.
   

 

                                                  Lincoln Scott, Assistant to the President for Equity and Diversity Issues

Lincoln was named Assistant to the President for Equity and Diversity Issues March 2006. In this position, Lincoln is responsible for providing pro-active, campus-wide leadership, direction, and coordination in the areas of diversity and equity issues. He holds a bachelor of science in education degree from  Harris Teachers College and a master of arts in administration degree from the University of Missouri - St. Louis.
