PROFESSIONAL POSITION

 

ASSISTANT ATHLETIC TRAINER

Department of Intercollegiate Athletics

Full Time (2 positions)

 

Primary Responsibilities

·          Provides medical care for student-athletes

·          Supervises graduate assistants and athletic training students

·          Performs clinical instruction for athletic training education students

·          Assists with supervision of daily operation of the athletic training room

·          Maintains accurate medical documentation on student-athletes

·          Supervises athletic training education laboratory

·          Supervises Olympic Sports

 

Required Qualifications

·          Master’s degree

·          Certified by National Athletic Trainer’s Association Board of Certification

·          State of Missouri Athletic Trainer Registration or eligible to obtain

·          Athletic training experience at the college level including baseball, women’s soccer, gymnastics, or other women’s sports

·          Supervisory experience

·          Knowledge of NCAA regulations related to athletic training/intercollegiate athletics

·          Excellent computer skills

·          Ability to function professionally in highly-stressful situations

·          Ability to provide accurate information on an impromptu basis

·          Ability to work evening/weekend hours; travel as requested

·          Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

·          Demonstrated experience and understanding of customer service

·          Demonstrated commitment of working with multi-cultural populations and awareness of issues affecting women and minorities

 

Compensation:  Commensurate with education and experience.  The University provides an excellent benefits package including retirement, medical and life insurance, vacation, sick leave, holidays, individual and dependent tuition benefits.
