PROJECT COORDINATOR

VICTORY Program, Department of Criminal Justice & Sociology

Full Time/Term/Grant Funded

 

The Project Coordinator plans, coordinates and participates in a variety of activities and services to assist victims of sexual assault and to promote awareness, education and prevention training.  Additionally, the Project Coordinator serves as a resource for victims of sexual assault and their families.

 

Primary Responsibilities

·        Coordinates academic, educational and support programs for women victims of violence

·        Serves as a liaison between university departments and violence against women resource groups

·        Plans, coordinates and executes activities and services to assist victims of sexual assault

·        Provides information concerning community agencies and university support services to victims

·        Develops training programs for faculty, staff and various student groups to promote educational awareness, prevention and support for victims of assault

·        Coordinates educational programs and activities with various university departments and student groups

·        Designs pamphlets, brochures, videos and other related publications

·        Collaborates with Project Director to prepare various reports and analyses for appropriate recommendations or conclusions

·        Develops and maintains project webpage

 

Required Qualifications

·        Significant progress towards completing a master’s degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education Administration, Counseling, Administration or related field

·        Experience in coordinating educational activities and services promoting sexual assault awareness and prevention

·        Demonstrable ability to use innovative approaches to problem solving

·        Excellent organizational skills

·        Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

·        Proficient computer skills

·        Experience developing web pages

·        Ability to initiate and maintain positive relationships with students, faculty, staff, family members and external constituents in a multi-cultural environment

·        Demonstrated experience and understanding of customer service

·        Demonstrated commitment to working with multi-cultural populations and awareness of issues affecting women and minorities

 

Compensation:   Commensurate with education and experience.  In addition, the University provides an excellent benefits package including retirement, medical and life insurance, vacation, sick leave, holidays, reduced summer hours, individual and dependent tuition benefits.
