2008 Dental Insurance For 2008, the dental insurance provider is Delta Dental. Delta offers two products. The first is called Plan A (low option) and is a preventative dental care program covering oral examinations and cleanings and bite wing x-rays up to 100% of usual, customary and reasonable (UCR) charges. The second plan, called Plan B (high option), is a more comprehensive dental plan. The plan offers coverages for Type A services (cleanings, oral exams, bite wing x-rays) at 100% UCR, as well as coverages for Type B and Type C services. Type B services are covered at 80% UCR after a $50 deductible. Type C services are covered at 10% UCR (first year on the plan) with transition to 25% UCR coverage (second year on the plan) and then 50% UCR coverage (third year on the plan and beyond) after a $50 deductible. Delta also offers orthodontia coverage at 50% UCR beginning with the third year on Plan B. Orthodontia coverage will have a $1,500 maximum benefit coverage. Covered individuals must utilize the Delta Premiere Provider Network in order to receive full benefits of either plan.
