Eric Redinger, Assistant Director, Outdoor Adventure

Eric, known simply as “Red” to most, began his professional career in 2000 as Fitness Coordinator at Dakota State University in Madison, South Dakota.  In 2001 he added the role of Intramural Sports Department Director.  He moved to Cape Girardeau in 2003 and began his career at Southeast Missouri State University as Facility Coordinator of the then newly opened Student Recreation Center – South Campus.  In 2005 he became the Assistant Director of Outdoor Adventure, a new and exciting program that includes weekend trips, expeditions, and more.

Red is a true Northerner.  He was born in Minnesota, raised in Iowa, and attended college in South Dakota...if it’s above freezing, he may be in shorts and flip flops.  He is an avid climber, triathlete, outdoor enthusiast, and loves to read.  He is especially fond of “useless information” and can remember odd facts such as: there are 118 grooves on the circumference of a dime whereas a quarter has 119.  He enjoys playing with his two boys, Brennan and Peyton, and cheering on his wife, Jen, while she crosses the finish line of her latest race.
