The college welcomes qualified students who have demonstrated academic success and who have a desire to broaden both their personal and academic credentials. Students at Southeast come from all 50 states and from countries around the world.

Accounting Students Finish 5th in National Competition (8/12/2004)
A team of accounting students from Southeast Missouri State University finished 5th in IMA’s National Student Video Case Competition. Team members Jerl Huling, Gina Hamlin, Amanda Hacker, and Holly Stockwell completed a 15-minute video and submitted the video to IMA for blind judging.

Accounting Students Excel on CPA Exam (8/12/2004)
Four recent graduates passed all four parts on their first attempt. They include: Sara Westrich, Jeremiah Gibbons, Kelly Lambing, and Sarah Berkbigler. “First Time Passers” are considered very special in the accounting profession because less than 15 percent of the approximately 100,000 individuals attempting the CPA Exam annually demonstrate this command of accounting principles.

Former Southeast Graduate Assistants at Shawnee Community College (5/13/2004)
Two alumni graduate assistants, Alyce (Ervin) Giltner and Phyllis (Propst) Sander, are currently instructors at Shawnee Community College.

Honors & Awards

BA490 Teams Finish in National Top Four Rankings (10/8/2004)
Four teams from the Harrison College of Business' capstone course, BA490 Business Policy and Strategy, finished in the top four in a national team competition for a business simulation game completed as part of course requirements for Summer Pre-session semester 2004.

MBA Program Rates Extremely High with Students (10/8/2004)
The 2004 EBI Survey results have been received and Southeast Missouri State University’s MBA Program rates extremely high with its students!

Perrotta Named Young Alumni Merit Award Recipient (9/1/2004)
Natacha Perrotta has been selected as the 2004 Young Alumni Merit Award Recipient from the Harrison College of Business.

Harrison College of Business 2003 Academic Achievement Awards (4/15/2004)
Two outstanding students, Adam Baker and Timothy Bledsoe, were honored at the 2003 Annual Harrison College of Business Honors Banquet on May 9, 2003.

Former Participants Are Now Interview Day Employers (12/11/2003)
Representatives from several companies at the St. Louis Interview Days held in St. Louis on October 23-24, 2003, are Southeast alumni, and obtained their positions from being participants in previous Interview Days.
