Event Services Manager
Minimum Requirements: The Event Services Manager
must be a student in good academic and disciplinary standing.
Those candidates who possess a 2.5 cumulative grade point
average will be given first consideration. Candidates must
demonstrate a high level of responsibility, the ability to work
independently, and demonstrate a strong commitment to diversity
and customer service. Weekend and evening hours are required.
General Responsibilities: The Building
Manager oversees the operation of the University Center during
evening and weekend hours. She or he acts on behalf of the
University Center administrative personnel in their absence. The
Event Services Manager interprets and implements University Center and
Southeast Missouri State University policies while overseeing
operations, student personnel, and events of the University
Center.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Responsible for closing procedures during the weekdays and
opening and closing the building on the weekends.
- Supervise Information Desk Staff, Center for Student
Involvement Staff, and Tech Crew.
- Prepare and maintain paperwork appropriate to the
position.
- Participate in weekly Event Services Manager meetings.
- Be accessible to customers and event sponsors at all
times.
- Inspect all room setups to ensure setup accuracy. Work
with Tech Crew, Support Services, and/or catering staff to
correct any problems.
- Set up technical equipment in meeting rooms and remove at
the conclusion of each event.
- Conduct routine facility inspections at appropriate
intervals and address any maintenance and/or custodial
issues.
- Be proactive in the establishment of policies and make
appropriate recommendations to the administrative staff
regarding pertinent issues.
- Other duties as mutually agreed upon and assigned.

Event Services Tech Crew
The Student Tech Crew is vital to the operations of the
University Center. Their work sets the tone for those who plan
events in the University Center. Because of the vital role they
play, it is necessary to focus upon their responsibilities and
how to best provide supervision to ensure that work is completed
efficiently and correctly. Listed below is the Tech Crew job
description.
Minimum requirements: Must be a student in
good academic and disciplinary standing. Must demonstrate a high
level of responsibility, the ability to work independently, and
demonstrate a strong commitment to diversity and customer
service.
General Responsibilities: The Tech Crew is
responsible for setting up University Center rooms, including
any technical requirements requested by organizations. Members
of the Tech Crew must have general knowledge of the correct use
of University Center equipment (i.e. tables, chairs, stage
sections, and audio-visual equipment). Tech Crew members are
supervised by the Event Services Managers and the Assistant Director.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Be available to work flexible hours during the evening on
weekdays and all day on weekends. Provide Lead Building
Manager with accurate schedule.
- Correctly interpret set up sheets and facilitate the
proper arrangement of furniture and equipment in the meeting
rooms, lounges, and other areas as directed.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of all University Center
technical equipment and be able to use this ability
independently and with limited supervision.
- Handle all equipment with proper care and report any
problem/damages immediately.
- Must work closely with Event Services Managers, Support Services
staff and other Tech Crew staff on as daily basis.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director
and Event Services Managers of the University Center.
Tech Crew members share some responsibilities with Event Services
Managers. This is an important point to note, because if the
Tech Crew cannot complete assigned work, then the Event Services
Managers are also failing to complete work. The Tech Crew and
Event Services Managers must work as a team to complete all of the
setups for which they are responsible.
Two other important things to note. First, the Tech Crew is
directly supervised by the Event Services Manager, Second, Tech Crew members should not be permitted to
remain clocked-in if they are not working, either find projects
for the Tech Crew to work on or permit them to go home.

Campus Life Assistant (Rm 202)
General Responsibilities: Answering
phones, typing, filing and general office duties. Provides
assistance to all personnel in the office with general office
duties. Running specific errands on campus.
Act as receptionist, greeting all customers and answering
phones. Computer experience with Office XP required.
The student assistant's academic progress is of primary
importance. Therefore, it is necessary to maintain an
appropriate balance between work and academics. This requires
the mutual cooperation and communication between the student
assistant and supervisor.

Campus Life & Event Services Assistant (Rm 203)
General Responsibilities: Answering
phones, typing, filing and general office duties. Provides
assistance to Director of Campus Life & Event Services with general office
duties. Running specific errands on campus.
Act as receptionist, greeting all customers and answering
phones. Assisting with the management of personal calendar. Computer experience with Office XP required.

Event Services & Scheduling Assistant
University Scheduling Office staff must
be students in good academic and disciplinary standing.
Candidates must demonstrate a high level of responsibility,
the ability to work independently, demonstrate a high level of
attention to detail, and demonstrate a strong commitment to
diversity and customer service. Scheduling Office Assistants
are supervised by the Reservationist for the University
Center.
General Responsibilities:
The University Scheduling Office staff
will have a basic knowledge of the campus and skills in the
area of computer operations (i.e. word processing, internet,
etc.). Event Services and Scheduling Office staff will assist in
daily operation of the University Center and become familiar
with all areas of the University Center (i.e. reservations,
camps and conferences, information desk and building
operations).
Specific Responsibilities:
- Provide typing and filing per request
of the University Center staff.
- Answer telephones appropriately and
take detailed messages.
- Greet and assist all
students/customer/guests to the University Scheduling
Office.
- Complete routine errands to other
campus offices as assigned.
- Become familiar with R25 and assist
with the reservation process for designated campus areas.
- Prepare the daily events and room
sheets and distribute appropriately.
- Other duties as assigned.

Center for Student Involvement Assistant
Minimum Requirements: CSI staff members must be a
student in good academic and disciplinary standing.
Candidates must demonstrate a high level of responsibility,
the ability to work independently, an appreciation for
confidentiality and security of information and demonstrate a
strong commitment to diversity and customer service. Some
weekend hours may be required. The CSI staff is supervised by
the Campus Life Administrative Assistant.
General Responsibilities: The CSI Desk staff will have basic
knowledge of the campus, the UC and the Center. Staff members
are responsible for ensuring that the public areas of the 2nd
floor are reasonably neat and clean at all times. Staff will
be trained to assist with all resources located within the
facility.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Provide campus wide information and assistance
to all guests of the CSI and University Center as well as
telephone requests.
- Present a positive, professional image based on
sound principles of good customer service.
- Be a problem-solver for University Center/CSI customers.
- Distribute/collect applications and other
information as directed
- Assist customers with resources and technology
available in the CSI.
- Maintain appropriate paperwork and follow
established accounting, inventory and security procedures.
- Complete assigned projects under the direction
of the Campus Life & Event Services Senior Administrative Assistant.
- Attend all meetings scheduled for the CSI,
including workshops and programs.
- Other duties as assigned.

Redhawks ID & Information Desk Assistant
Information & ID Services Desk
staff members must be a student in good academic and
disciplinary standing. Candidates must demonstrate a high
level of responsibility, the ability to work independently, a
appreciation for confidentiality and security of information
and demonstrate a strong commitment to diversity and customer
service. Some weekend hours may be required. The Information
& ID Services Desk is supervised by the Assistant Director for Event Services and Scheduling and Event Services Managers.
General
Responsibilities: The Information & ID Services Desk
staff will have basic knowledge of the campus and know the
location of offices and buildings. Staff members are
responsible for ensuring that the public areas of the 3rd
floor are reasonably neat and clean at all times. Staff will
be trained to make, maintain and secure all University IDs and
related components. Also, the Desk staff is responsible for
cash operations and ticket distribution.
Specific
Responsibilities:
- Provide campus wide information and assistance to all
guests of the University Center as well as telephone requests.
- Present a positive, professional image based on sound
principles of good customer service. Be a problem solver for
University Center customers.
- Verify, process and distribute University IDs.
- Maintain appropriate paperwork and follow established
accounting, inventory and security procedures.
- Attend all meetings scheduled for the Information Desk,
including workshops and programs.
- Other duties as assigned.
