WHO ARE WE?

The Panhellenic Association is the governing board of the six sororities at Southeast Missouri State University. It consists of an executive council and two representatives from each chapter. The association was created to help chapters develop and maintain a high standard of sorority life, and to build inter-sorority relation. Panhellenic believes in furthering education, and helps promote students' awareness of social issues through the Minimum Standards program and other activities. It also encourages the compliance of all University and National Panhellenic Conference's policies, and ensures that the chapters are following these policies.

MISSION STATEMENT

The overall purpose of the Panhellenic Council is to foster interfraternity relationships, to assist collegiate chapters of the NPC member groups, and to cooperate with the university in maintaining the highest scholastic and social standards.

CODE OF ETHICS

We, the undergraduate Members of women’s fraternities at Southeast Missouri State University agree to promote honesty, respect and sisterhood through respectful adherence to the UNANIMOUS AGREEMENTS and all amendments established by the National Panhellenic Conference. We agree to uphold and demonstrate the Panhellenic Spirit in thought, word, and action through our chapters as well as individual members. We recognize and encourage friendly relations with all collegiate women, Greek and non-Greek, realizing, the importance of creating and building friendships. We shall adhere to the relationships between the chapters and with the Panhellenic Council in order to establish a process more conducive to timely and efficient management of information. It is in accordance with the dignity and good manners of fraternity women to avoid disparaging remarks about any fraternity or college woman and avoid publicity on Panhellenic matters which are not
properly the concern of nonmembers. All rush programs will be planned to provide opportunities for the greatest possible number of women to become fraternity members, while protecting the rights and privileges of both the individuals and the chapters and always in good taste. These are the tenets by which we strive to live.
