The F.I.T. program is proud to present a new nutrition component to its program that enhances the current level
of services provided to the campus and surrounding community. This service provides expertise in the
nutrition field, and can be used for weight management, optimal performance, and disease prevention. Gain
the basic knowledge and skills needed to live a healthy lifestyle from a
Registered Dietitian. Nutrition service staff include faculty and dietetic
interns from the Department of Human Environmental Studies.
Nutrition Assessment (1/2 hour)
After completing a three-day food diary, your eating habits will be analyzed not only for adequacy but to identify
your intake of foods that may help with prevention of chronic disease. You will receive a graphic analysis
and a personalized explanation of this analysis by senior level dietetic students, Human Environmental
Studies faculty, and dietetic interns.

Nutrition Counseling for Optimal Health (1 hour)
Nutrition counseling will begin with completion of a three-day food diary and lifestyle assessment. You will then
meet with a Registered Dietitian to identify your goals for diet improvement. Focus will be on improving
food choices for prevention of chronic disease.
Nutrition Counseling for Optimal Performance (1 hour)
Meet with a Registered Dietitian that can help you plan your food choices to support your active lifestyle.
Learn how to assure that you have adequate fuel for your sport performance.
Nutrition Counseling for Medical Nutrition Therapy (1 hour)
Nutrition counseling will begin with completion of a three-day food diary and lifestyle assessment. You will then
meet with a Registered Dietitian to identify your goals for diet improvement. You and your RD will develop
a plan to reach those goals. Medical nutrition therapy is available to assist in your medical care for diagnoses
such as Diabetes Mellitus, Cardiovascular Disease, Hyperlipidemias, Hypertension, Obesity, Celiac Disease,
Irritable Bowel Syndrome, or Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease.

NEW Ask a Dietitian
Nutritional information can be difficult to grasp and the cause of many questions. That’s why the F.I.T. Program is
introducing Ask a Dietitian. Ask a Dietitian is a Free service developed to help individuals find
answers to their nutrition questions. Just fill out the online form and a F.I.T.
Registered Dietitian will have an answer or some great resources to you within 48 hours (with the exception of
weekends).
